Special Programs

In addition to our regular Client Services, we offer a variety of Special Programs, including the Working Student Program, Apprenticeship Program, School Intensives and Mentorships, Birthday Parties, and Scout Outings.

Working Student Program

Our Working Student Program allows Riders to learn more about and interact more closely with the Horses while offsetting their own Riding, Stabling, or Showing costs. We have a variety of positions available. At home, Working Students may clean stalls or feed; during Show Season, Students assist in the management of the Show Barn and/or in the preparation and care of the School's Horses. In the past, we've often had a parent/child team take on the show management position. For the parents, it's a wonderful opportunity to participate more directly in their child's sport.

Apprenticeships

During the summer, we offer several Apprenticeship Programs for riders. Apprenticeships are usually one-day programs, with the Apprentice Rider working closely with a more experienced Rider in their area of interest. For example, our Advanced Riders might spend the day helping Train Horses; their experience will help them understand what it takes to run a training barn on a day-to-day basis as well as give them experience in working with a variety of horses. Riders who have not shown before might Apprentice with an experienced Show Rider—they would go to a show and work with the experienced Rider throughout the day to learn all the details involved in showing and become familiar with the show ground atmosphere.

School Intensives and Mentorships

We work with the Anchorage School District to provide unique Intensive Programs for Students. Students gain more experience riding and caring for Horses while earning school credits! We also work with the ASD to Mentor Students. Contact Us for details.

Scout Outings
